The New York Times runs a front-page editorial on gun control, the first front-page editorial since 1920

The front page of Saturday’s New York Times included an editorial “The Gun Epidemic,” which called to drastically reduce the number of firearms in the U.S. and eliminate “some large categories of weapons and ammunition.” Saturday’s front-page editorial is the first NYT has run since 1920. Publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. says NYT chose to place a front-page editorial to “to deliver a strong and visible statement of frustration and anguish about our country’s inability to come to terms with the scourge of guns.”
