To boost traffic to Discover, Snapchat will let users subscribe to publishers’ channels


You might have heard: While Snapchat doesn’t offer any specific metrics on traffic to Discover, some publishers said earlier in 2015 that their Discover traffic was dropping, but others see Discover as an effective way to reach Millennials

But did you know: Snapchat is telling Discover publishers that it will soon let users subscriber to their favorite Discover channels, Kurt Wagner and Peter Kafka report. Snapchat Discover channels are currently separated from other content from a user’s friend on the app, requiring users to seek out Discover content. Subscribing to a channel would ensure that a publisher’s Discover channel appears on the story page with Snapchat content from a user’s friends, and the feature could be rolled out by May.
