Reston, VA--The American Press Institute and Suburban Newspapers of America have partnered again for 2006 to provide leadership training to community newspapers.

Under the agreement, SNA will co-sponsor five API seminars in 2006:

Editing the Weekly and Community Newspaper, January 31-February 4

Internet Strategies for Community Markets, June 20-23

Managing the Weekly Newspaper, July 16-21

Advertising Leadership (for community markets), July 23-28

Executive Development Program (for community markets), August 6-11

Through this arrangement, SNA members will receive a 10 percent discount off the prevailing tuition fee for these five seminars, subject to limited restrictions. (SNA members can register and receive the SNA member discount by simply visiting the www.suburban-news.org and clicking on the API logo to find a downloadable registration form.)

"Suburban and community newspapers are where we are seeing the most growth in this industry," said API President Drew Davis. "We are happy to partner with SNA to provide specifically tailored relevant leadership development programs to this segment of the industry."

"We're delighted to partner again with the American Press Institute in offering SNA members access to some of our industry's best leadership development offerings," said SNA President Nancy Lane.

The two organizations first entered into this partnership in 2004 to improve community newspapers' access to the cutting-edge programs offered by API that focus on all aspects of the news business, from news delivery to the business of running a media organization and the future of news.
