Design 2020: Visions of the newspaper of the future![]()
Available exclusively from API One of the clear messages from API's 1999 J. Montgomery Curtis Memorial Seminar, "Newspaper Design: 2020," was that there will be an even greater need for editing and presentation skills in the future. Among the greatest challenges to be met by newspaper companies will be the creation of new business models, new and varied products reaching differing audiences, finding and keeping the necessary people to do the tasks needed to be done, and addressing at least one nagging question - what happens to the newspaper as a mass medium? We invite you to experience the visions of the future presented by 26 leading designers: Roger Black, Howard Finberg, Colin McEnroe, Lucy Bartholomay, Lucie Lacava, Tony Majeri, Neal Pattison, Marty Petty, Robert Lockwood, Edward Miller, Kelly Frankeny, Nanette Bisher, Don DeMaio, Lukas Kircher, Bryan Monroe, Will Sutton, Jr., Roger Fidler, Mario Garcia, David Gray, Phillip Ritzenberg, Edmund Arnold, Richard Curtis, Bill Dunn, Bengt Engwall, Michael Keegan, William McGrath, Broc Sears.
