Christopher H. Chamberlain
President, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Mr. Chamberlain is the president of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a position he’s held since August 2009 when he was promoted from general manager. As president, he leads the Post-Gazette’s business strategy and daily operations. Mr. Chamberlain’s career in the media industry began in 2000 at the New York Times, where he held strategic planning and advertising management positions. In 2006, he became the VP of operations for the Journal Register Company, managing the company’s New England and New York daily, weekly, and magazine properties.

 

Prior to working in the media industry, Mr. Chamberlain held several positions in the economic development field at a non-governmental organization in Washington, D.C. He conducted field work and advocacy on international development issues and traveled extensively in the developing world.

 

Throughout his career, Mr. Chamberlain has been involved in numerous civic and charitable activities. Since relocating to Pittsburgh from Connecticut in 2008, he joined the Board of Directors of PG Charities, the Post-Gazette’s charitable division, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. In addition he is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Allegheny County, a Board member of Pennsylvania’s Economy League of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and a member of the Allegheny Conference Workplace Committee. Mr. Chamberlain holds an MBA from New York University and a BA in English Literature from Colby College. He lives in Fox Chapel with his wife and two children.
