Gina Wilcox, Director of Digital Operations at The Palm Beach Post, has worked with Cox Newspapers since 1997. She has spearheaded the development of a variety of products and services that have garnered PalmBeachPost.com numerous NAA Digital Edge, EPpy and Presstime Best Practice and Innovation Awards for forward-thinking digital strategies.

The Post’s Mobile Marketplace was recognized by NAA with a Digital Edge Award in 2007 for Best Advertising Program as well as a Presstime Innovation Award that same year. The Mobile application won another Digital Edge Award this year for Best Digital Shopping & Directory Strategy.

In 2007, she developed an On-Demand Mobile Hurricane Alert system for The Post that allowed users to get up-to-the minute coordinates, wind speed and other vital information via SMS. This service created a new revenue opportunity for the paper when it was sponsored by Publix Supermarkets.

Ms. Wilcox has spoken at several newspaper industry conferences and events about how to capitalize on the opportunity cell phones and mobile devices bring to advertisers and how this powerful distribution channel can be leveraged to create new revenue streams.
