Don Himsel
Photo Editor and Multimedia Producer, The Telegraph, Nashua, NH

Mr. Himsel helps drive the multimedia bus at The Telegraph. He is the photo editor and a multimedia producer for the 26,000 daily, 30,000 Sunday paper (and Website). He’s been on staff there since 1989 and has worked at other New England newspapers. He’s written fire stories, meeting stories, photographed meteor showers, murderers, lost puppies and a handful of presidential primaries. Though he still is on the street he’s moved from covering daily assignments to helping coordinate the efforts of three staff photographers, a reporting staff and preaching about the benefits of good new media storytelling to anyone who will listen.

Mr. Himsel has been a member of the National Press Photographers Association since 1986. He’s on the board of directors of the New Hampshire Press Association, has served on the NH Press Photographers Association and the state’s Judiciary and the Media group. He was a contract photographer for the America 24-7 project. He has received state and regional photojournalism awards including one of the first ever New England Newspaper Association Publick Occurances awards for documentary photojournalism. Some have heard him present on photography at the New England Press Association annual workshops.
