Helen FisherResearch Professor, Department of Anthropology, Rutgers University
Dr. Helen E. Fisher is a Research Professor and member of the Center for Human Evolutionary Studies in the Department of Anthropology at Rutgers University. From 1984 to 1994 she was a Research Associate in the Department of Anthropology at The American Museum of Natural History. She received her Ph.D. in Physical Anthropology at the University of Colorado with a dissertation on the evolution of human female sexuality and the origin of the nuclear family. She is currently writing a book on the primary mating emotions, lust, attraction and attachment, for Henry Holt & Co, NYC. She is also doing a research project on the brain physiology of romantic love (using fMRI brain scanning) with colleagues at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and SUNY/Stony Brook.
