Online Director, The Press Democrat, Santa Rosa, CA

Ms. Behrens is an online director for New York Times Co.’s Regional Media Group, with the mission of developing new online products and models for innovative audience engagement.

She is formerly the editor and product manager of metromix.com, the Chicago Tribune’s entertainment site known for its ground-breaking user-generated-content initiatives. She developed an extension of the brand featured daily in the broadsheet edition of the Chicago Tribune, called Metromix Planner, as well as the Emmy-winning “metromix: the tv show.” She was also a founder of RedEye, Tribune’s youth-commuter edition, which features an additional print version of metromix.
