Tony MineartVice President/Development, Santa Cruz Industries
Mr. Mineart came to Santa Cruz Industries, a retail marketing firm whose client list includes Honda, Taylor Made and Nextel, after a career in newspaper circulation leadership. He most recently served as senior vice president of circulation for the Los Angeles Newspaper Group based in Woodland Hills, California. He began his circulation career at The Washington Post as a newspaper carrier. Once he was old enough to drive, he became a route driver for a number of independent Post distributors. After receiving a liberal arts degree from Central College in Pella, Iowa, he returned to The Post as an independent home delivery distributor. Eleven months later he joined the management team. During his 20-year career with The Post, Mr. Mineart served as a zone manager, assistant to the vice president of circulation, customer service manager, metro single copy manager, circulation director for single copy and retail sales, and circulation director for corporate and national sales. Mr. Mineart left The Post to join Current News Company, an East Coast distributor of newspapers, magazines and books, as president of the newspaper division and to perform independent newspaper consulting. Mr. Mineart then was named circulation director of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, a New York Times Company newspaper, and then the New York Times Regional Newspaper Group. Mr. Mineart completed the Executive Business Program at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. In 2000, he received a Robert R. McCormick Fellowship and attended the Maynard Institute’s Management Training Center at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Mr. Mineart is an alum of API’s Circulation Executives Seminar in 1986.
