Joni Silverstein
Chief Marketing Officer, Hybrid Moms Magazine, St. James, NY

Joni Silverstein has been the vice president of market development at Gannett Co., Inc. since February of 2006. Joni comes to corporate as a newspaper veteran, bringing over 25 years of newspaper experience to her current position.  She is committed to extensive involvement in strategic planning and successfully implementing new programs at newspapers across the country.

Joni began her career at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in 1978 in classified advertising sales, joining Gannett Co., Inc. in 1998 as director of market development in Wilmington, Del. She has also worked at The Californian in Bakersfield, The Blade in Toledo, Ohio, and the Observer & Eccentric Newspapers in suburban Detroit.

Joni is a six-time winner of a Gannett President’s Ring, awarded annually to the company’s top executives in specific disciplines; she also has the recognition of receiving the MAC awards for three consecutive years; 1998, 1999 and in 2000. Joni holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Tulsa. Quite the avid kayaker, she enjoys all sports and would join the competitive world of corporate kickball if her business travel ever permitted.
