Mark L. BarryDirector of Circulation and Marketing, The Day Publishing Company
Mark Barry is director of circulation and marketing for The Day Publishing Company of New London, Conn. In this role, he is responsible for circulation sales and operations activities and the general marketing efforts of the company. Barry came to The Day in 2002 from Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc. (PNI), publisher of the Philadelphia Daily News and The Philadelphia Inquirer. During his four years at PNI, Barry served as director of subscriber sales for both newspapers and oversaw Philadelphia Direct, a PNI-owned teleservices subsidiary located in Trevose, Penn. Prior to joining PNI, Barry worked in a variety of marketing capacities at Active on a number of boards, Barry holds a B.S. in marketing from the University of Connecticut and an M.A. in economics from Trinity College. He lives in New London with his wife and two daughters. The Day Publishing Company is owned and operated by The Day Trust and is currently celebrating its 125th year of independent reporting. In addition to publishing The Day (39,000 daily; 45,000 Sunday), the company owns The Times Community News Group, a group of nine community newspapers with a combined weekly circulation of more than 100,000 copies; has an equity position in Shore Publishing LLC, a group of seven community newspapers with a combined weekly circulation of 90,000 copies; runs Day Printing, a full-service printing and bindery operation; and produces several niche publications, including four travel-related magazines.
