Scott PompeVice President and General Manager, Trib Direct, Los Angeles Times
Since November 2005 Scott Pompe has been vice president and general manger of Tribune Direct – Western region. In his role he is building Tribune's direct marketing California business with the LA Times. So far he has engineered a Tribune Direct production facility, doubled the number of accounts, and grown revenue by over $2 million while synergizing with the Los Angeles Times. Prior to coming to Los Angeles Pompe was vice president of business development at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, overseeing three strategic business units: Journal Sentinel Direct, Journal Print Group and the sales operations of Journal Interactive. These divisions expanded the company’s traditional customer offerings to include everything from online retail and classified advertising packages to shared mail, from solo mail to database services, as well as all commercial printing efforts. Before joining the Journal Sentinel in 1996, Pompe was senior account executive with the direct mail company ADVO, a database manager for Sundance Broadcasting and worked with shared and solo mail programs at a direct mail company. Pompe has been involved with the Newspaper Target Market Coalition (NTMC) since its inception, and has served as its vice president and later president. He also serves on the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) with the USPS. In December of 2005 He was named as one of Presstime Magazine’s 20 Under 40 emerging leaders. He has a BA in communications from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
