The Reynolds Center at API has announced the winner of its scholarship to the Society of American Business Editors & Writers annual conference in Seattle on May 1-3.

Hang Nguyen, a real estate reporter for The Orange County Register, has been named the recipient of the scholarship, which provides more than $850 to cover registration and lodging for the event.

A former intern for The Los Angeles Times, Nguyen has been covering the Register's real estate beat for two and a half years.

“We had many outstanding applicants for the scholarship, which is very positive about the future of business journalism,” said Andrew Leckey, Director of the Reynolds Center at API. “Hang represents the kind of diligent, focused business reporter that we are happy to recognize with this opportunity.”

The Reynolds Center at API, based in Reston, Va., is funded by a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation in Las Vegas, Nev.
