Cindy Brandt, editor of the Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter and an active member of the Reynolds Center at API's Advisory Board, died Feb. 14 after battling breast cancer for four months. She was 44.

She was formerly business editor for The Rockford Register Star, where she helped win its business section the "Best in Business" award last year by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. She also wrote an article for BusinessJournalism.org on how business reporters can better cover their local economies.

"Cindy Brandt was an involved and enthusiastic member of our first Reynolds Center at API Advisory Board," says Director Andrew Leckey. "She was serious about her craft, was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed."
