Carla Berry
Retail Category Manager, Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News

Carla Berry is currently the retail category sales manager for the Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News.  Her team is responsible for revenue generation among large, regional advertisers within the education, financial, healthcare and arts and entertainment categories.  She joined PNI in June of 2004 from the San Jose Mercury News, another Knight Ridder subsidiary.

Ms. Berry began her career in advertising sales in 1999 with the Miami Herald, where she was a national account executive focusing on travel accounts.  In 2001, she joined Knight Ridder Digital as a newspaper channel sales manager, where she partnered with Knight Ridder’s Florida newspapers, The Miami Herald, Bradenton Herald and the Tallahassee Democrat, to create product and pricing strategy and implement online classified vertical products, including CareerBuilder and Cars.com.  She moved to the San Jose Mercury News as the national sales manager where she led the team from June of 2002 to January of 2004, when she assumed the major accounts sales manager responsibilities. 

Prior to advertising sales, Ms. Berry was on the advertising agency side of the business as a media planner/buyer for Ross Roy (Bloomfield Hills, MI), J. Walter Thompson-Detroit (Detroit, MI), Beber Silverstein & Partners (Miami, FL) and Tinsley Advertising (Miami, FL).  She also interned for Young & Rubicam-Detroit (Detroit, MI) in media research..

Ms. Berry is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Rho Theta Omega Chapter, Michigan State Alumni Association, National Urban League-Philadelphia Chapter and the Philadelphia Advertising Club. She graduated from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI in 1994 with a BA in advertising.  She is a native of Tulsa, OK.
