A former public administrator with a doctorate in Spanish literature from Emory University, Aida Levitan serves as the vice chairperson and chief communications officer of Bromley Communications and the president of Bromley Miami. The agency is the No. 1 Hispanic advertising agency in the U.S., according to the 2003 listings by Advertising Age. Bromley serves clients such as: Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, Burger King, BellSouth, Coors Brewing Company, BMW, L’Oreal, Pennzoil Quaker State, Payless Shoes and other major brands.

Until February 2004 Ms. Levitan was the co-chairperson and CEO of Publicis Sanchez & Levitan, one of the top10 Hispanic advertising agencies in the U.S., with $92 million in billings, 80 employees, and four full-service offices in the leading Hispanic population centers: California, Texas, New York and Florida.

Ms. Levitan works closely with Ernest Bromley, Chairman of Bromley Communications, to help manage the five offices of Bromley Communications: San Antonio, Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas and New York. She provides strategic counsel and supervision of accounts that include: BellSouth; BMW; Chivas Regal; Garnier, Pennzoil Quaker State and TXU Energy, among others.

Until April 2004 she served as president of the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA), the organization that represents the leading agencies in the Hispanic advertising industry. In 2003 she was chosen Entrepreneur of the Year in Communications by Hispanic magazine; Communications Entrepreneur of the Year by Women in Communications; and one of the South Florida Federation Six Legends in Advertising.

Ms. Levitan has a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from Emory University and a B.A. from the University of Miami. She is a member of the American Advertising Federation, and an accredited member (APR) of the Public Relations Society of America and of its Counselors Academy.

She was born in Cuba and came to the U.S. seeking freedom when she was 13 years old. From 1977 to 1980 she served as Metro-Dade Director of Latin Affairs, providing direction and supervision to 100 county government employees, four federal grant programs and the Hispanic Heritage Festival. She also coordinated the volunteer effort (Enlace) to receive 125,000 refugees who came in from Mariel, Cuba, in 1980. Later, as City of Miami Director of Information and Visitors (1980-83), she created a public relations program that brought more than 1,500 leading news and business editors and reporters to Miami for an in-depth tour of the area.
