The Reynolds Center has announced the two winners of its scholarships to the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia Oct. 24-28.

Martin LaMonica, a senior reporter with CNET News.com, and Lewis Krauskopf, a specialty writer for The Record (Bergen County, N.J.), have been named recipients of the scholarships, each of which provides $1,494 to cover tuition, materials and most meals for the event.

LaMonica covers suppliers of business software, including technology industry heavyweights IBM, Microsoft and Oracle, as well as smaller start-ups. Krauskopf has covered the pharmaceutical industry and other healthcare companies as a business reporter for The Record for four years.

“In addition to our own workshops, we are strong supporters of business journalism training by other quality organizations,” said Andrew Leckey, director of the Reynolds Center at API. “The Wharton program has been active in business journalism training for many years.”

The Reynolds Center at API based in Reston, Va., is funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation in Las Vegas, Nev.
