Edward EfchakEdward Efchak
Vice President/Marketing, North Jersey Media Group

Ed Efchak is currently vice president/marketing for North Jersey Media Group, parent company of The Record (Bergen County, N.J.) located just outside of New York City. His current responsibilities include marketing, market research, public and media relations, customer relationship management, and community relations for the company's 40+ daily, weekly, and specialty newspapers and its Internet operations. He was a leader of the NJMG team that participated as a demonstration project in Newspaper Next, API’s research into new business models for the newspaper industry. Mr. Efchak joined the company in 1974 as a research assistant. He is currently North American president of the International Newspaper Marketing Association (INMA) and Secretary/Treasurer for the National Council on Public Polls. He is a past president of the Newspaper Research Council and was the Newspaper Association of America Research Federation 1998 Award of Merit honoree and a past director of the Research Federation. Mr. Efchak is a graduate of Montclair State University (N.J.) and is a 1998 graduate of the Kellogg/Medill Newspaper Management Center at Northwestern University. He holds a degree from the Institute of Survey Research at the University of Michigan and holds certificates of achievement in Geomatics from Rutgers -- The State University of New Jersey and Lean Management from Ohio State University.
