October 2005 'Train the Trainer' application details

Newspaper trainers selected for the "Train the Trainer" seminar must demonstrate a strong commitment to training in addition to having experience as a trainer or industry speaker. Candidates should be those who not only design training modules and/or programs, they also deliver them. Nominees might present training sessions for their newspapers and/or newspaper groups. They also might do training sessions for state, regional or national newspaper organizations.

API and the Knight Foundation will select a diverse group of 20 newspaper trainers for this program, which will be staged October 23-26, 2005, at the American Press Institute in Reston, Virginia. (Reston is located 20 miles west of Washington, D.C.)

For the October 2005 offering, tuition is $500. Attendees also will need to cover their travel expenses and any incidentals.

Candidates need to complete an application form and send it with a brief resume and a letter of recommendation from their supervisor. Application materials must be received no later than Friday, August 12, 2005, by:
