The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has established a certificate in business journalism following Provost Robert Shelton's approval of the program last week.

The certificate, which is being offered by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill, is geared toward students with career aspirations in business reporting or editing, corporate communications and corporate advertising. It is being offered to both undergraduate and non-degree students.

Curriculum mandated for certificate eligibility includes Economics Reporting, Business Reporting, and Business and the Media.

The certificate aims to provide students with a knowledge level beyond the skills and concepts in the university's news-editorial sequence. A panel will choose up to 15 students each year to enroll in the program.

For further details, contact Program Director Chris Roush at 919-962-4092.
