Terry Eberle
Executive Editor, Florida Today

On January 20, 2003, Terry Eberle joined Florida Today as its executive editor from The Indianapolis Star, where he was vice president and editor. Both newspapers are owned by Gannett Company. Eberle has deep roots in the Sunshine State and the newspaper industry. He was raised in Coral Gables; his father was general manager of the now-defunct Miami News. From 1995 to January 2001, Eberle was the executive editor at The News-Press in Fort Myers. Eberle joined Gannett after graduating from the University of Dayton in 1971. Besides Indianapolis and Fort Myers, he has worked at papers in West Virginia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, as well as at USA Today. Eberle has been recognized twice as one of Gannett's top ten editors. Eberle's wife, Louise, is an elementary school teacher. The couple has one grown daughter, who lives in Washington, D.C.
