Andrew Leckey
Andrew, who became the first Director of the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism when it was launched at the American Press Institute in 2003, is also a long-time syndicated investment columnist for The Chicago Tribune. He now directs the Center from its headquarters at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Communication at Arizona State University, where it moved in July 2006. He received the National Association of Investor's Corporation's "Distinguished Award in Investment Education." He was previously a CNBC anchor, editor of the Random House anthology series The Best Business Stories of the Year and contributing editor to Quicken.com. The first Director of the Bloomberg Business Journalism Program at the University of California, Berkeley, Leckey is author or editor of 10 financial books. Kevin Sweeney
Kevin is Web and Marketing Managing Editor for the Reynolds Center. He is responsible for the content and daily management of BusinessJournalism.org and oversees the Center’s marketing and advertising campaigns. In addition to writing original articles for the Web site, Kevin also travels to various workshops to represent the Reynolds Center. He is the former managing editor of Thomson Financial’s BenefitNews.com, where he played a lead role in the redesign of that Web site and wrote articles on financial and benefits topics. A former copy editor with The Roanoke (Va.) Times, he holds a degree in Mass Communication from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., attended the Wharton Business Journalism Seminars at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 and has taken coursework toward his M.B.A. E-mail Sweeney 301-668-0366
The Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism is headquartered at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Communication at Arizona State University. The Center was launched in 2003 at the American Press Institute with a grant from the Las Vegas, Nev.-based Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. Designed to be an ongoing, long-term venture, it sponsors daylong workshops, online seminars and a Web site devoted entirely to business journalism. The Cronkite School at ASU is a leading professional journalism school with nearly 2,000 undergraduate and master's students.
