The Freedom Forum Partnership

Print this article

In 1997, API and The Freedom Forum entered into a $1 million First Amendment partnership.

As part of the partnership, most Reston-based seminars include a visit to the Freedom Forum for First Amendment discussions. Thousands of news professionals will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge through case studies, lectures, interviews and publications that show historical and current applications of First Amendment issues.

The $1 million allocated by The Freedom Forum to the partnership consists of $500,000 for API's 50th Anniversary endowment campaign and $500,000 in First Amendment program expenses over a five-year period.

The Freedom Forum is a nonpartisan, international foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. The foundation pursues its priorities through programs including conferences, educational activities, publishing, broad-casting, online services, partnerships, training and research.
