In the new media landscape, visual journalism is more important than ever. Design is the differentiator in the marketplace, the integrator of new tools and processes, and the transformer of newsrooms -- and organizations -- that embrace innovation and creativity.

Find out how great storytelling and dynamic design come together in print and on screen to produce real return on innovation at API's one-day workshop, Visual Journalism R.O.I.  Discover fresh concepts, practical knowledge and critical skills to reach new audiences.

Get an inside look at the transformation going on in newsrooms across the country and hear from industry leaders who are leading innovation.  Find out how you can integrate print and Web operations to deliver dynamic content across platforms.  Discover how design adds to the value equation for your work, your career and your organization.

This workshop is for visual journalists and educators -- print and Web designers, editors, graphic artists, copy editors and photographers -- who want to be innovative, multi-platform storytellers.

WORKSHOP PROGRAM:

Design is Differentiator: Discover the power of design to entice people to read, use, share, interact and buy your products … and keep coming back for more. Powerful design tools increase impact, engagement and retention of stories. Mary Peskin, API Associate Director, will show you how to take your visual journalism to the next level.

Design is Integration: Find out how to develop a hybrid team of multimedia journalists who can attack the stories of the day from every angle more quickly and with focused resources.

Design is Transformation: In tough times, it's the brightest ideas that get noticed. Find out how your design can be a driver for innovation, enterprise and change across the organization.

Return on Innovation: Good design adds value to the equation of your work, your career and your organization. Learn how you can get a return on innovation while inspiring yourself and your organization.
