  • Strategic Planning You Can Use.  How to look forward to spot opportunities for growth, and how to create a simple but effective strategic plan to take advantage of them.
  • Newspaper Next.  A full overview of the American Press Institute’s groundbreaking research on what newspapers need to do to transform themselves if they’re going to survive.
  • Web Day (You Can Do This!).  We’ll spend an entire day looking at all the ways the Web should be part of every weekly newspaper’s operations.  Participants will go home with a comprehensive strategy for using the Web as a key tool for growth.  Included in this session will be an idea-starter guided tour of some innovations already under way at various newspapers.
  • Know Your Market. This session will look at affordable, easily executable ways to build market intelligence and to leverage it for real new growth.
  • News and Beyond.  Find out how to leverage all the content you already generate to realize new revenue streams.
  • Freedom Forum.  We’ll spend an afternoon tin an interactive session with legendary journalist John Seigenthaler from the First Amendment Center in Nashville.
